Bacharach's town wall is one of the best
preserved examples in the Rhine valley.
The towers alongside the Rhine are linked
with a covered battlement - just right
to stroll along - and in days gone by it
also provided a footpath between the
buildings on the east side of the
town during floods, walking along
the old wall between the towers
is really quite an experience.
