Building stared on what is now known as the
Posthof in the 16th century. After spending
a period under the ownership of the
Electorate Palatinate, the building's links
to the postal service started in 1724 when
a Thurn and Taxis postal administration office
was established. Bacharach's post office was
located in the Posthof until 1987.
Life was already pulsing in the Posthof in the
heart of Bacharach in the 19th century.
European high nobility had a
tryst here. And even today the Posthof is
Bacharach's cultural center.
It hosts a potpourri of various types of
music - from classical to folk, and all the way
through to dixie and swing.
